BEAN SOUP 
1 c. navy beans, soaked overnight
Ham hock or ham
1 potato, diced
1 onion
Bay leaf
Carrots
Parsley flakes
Salt & pepper

Drain water off navy beans and wash. Cook in salted water (about 2 quarts) until beans are soft, 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Put rest of ingredients into water and bean mixture. Cook about 1 1/2 hours.
