OAT CAKES 
3 c. flour
3 c. rolled oats
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. shortening (Crisco)
3/4 c. cold water

Mix dry ingredients by hand. Cut shortening in as you do for pie dough. Moisten with cold water. Roll out thin and cut into squares. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. This recipe was obtained from Glenghorm Resort in Ingonish, N.S.
