GRITS 
1 1/2-2 lb. ground beef
1 lb. sausage
1 onion (lg.)
1 box barley
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Brown meat and onions together. Drain off grease. Add 2 quarts of water to barley. Add sage to taste. Mix with meat mixture. Cook on low 2-3 hours, stirring frequently and add water as needed.
