HARVEST APPLE BARS 
CRUST:

2 c. flour
1/2 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter

FILLING:

6 c. sliced apples
1/2 c. butter
4 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. water
1 1/4 tsp. vanilla

CRUST: Mix ingredients until crumbly. Save 1 1/4 cup for top. Press remaining mixture into 9x13 inch pan.

FILLING: Put apples over bottom crust. In saucepan, cook butter, sugar, water, salt and cornstarch until thick. Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Pour over apples. Sprinkle reserved crumbs on top. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
