CREAMY MACARONI AND CHEESE 
1 (7 oz.) pkg. elbow macaroni
1/4 c. butter
6 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
2 c. (8 oz.) grated Cheddar or Colby cheese

Cook macaroni according to package direction. In 1 quart microwave butter at high 1/2 to 1 minute. Blend in flour and salt. Stir milk until smooth. Microwave at high 5 1/2 to 6 minutes stirring with fork every minute until thickened. Stir in grated cheese until melted.

Stir sauce into macaroni, mixing well. Microwave at high 7 to 10 minutes stirring after 4 minutes. Makes 6 to 8 servings.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
