LENTIL SOUP | |
1/4 c. salad oil 3 c. diced cooked ham 1/2 lb. Polish sausage, cut in 1/2 inch slices 2 lg. onions, chopped 1 pt. tomatoes 3 qts. water 2 c. chopped celery with leaves 1 lb. dried lentils, rinsed 1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce 1 1/2 tsp. salt 10 oz. pkg. chopped spinach, thawed In a large kettle, heat oil. Add ham, sausage, onions and garlic. Cook 5 minutes. Add celery, tomatoes, lentils, water, hot pepper sauce and salt. Cover and cook over low heat for 2 hours. Add spinach and cook for 10 minutes more. Serves 8. |
