GREEN TOMATO PIE
2 c. chopped green tomatoes
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. cider vinegar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped raisins
3 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 tsp. salt
3 cloves, crushed
1/4 tsp. mace

Cover tomatoes in pan with a top and boil quickly. Drain, then add other ingredients. Put in pie plate lined with rich pie crust (dotted with sugar and butter). Put on top crust (dotted with sugar and butter) and cut small slashes to let steam escape. Crimp crust edges. Bake from 35-40 minutes in hot oven, 375 degrees. Freezes very well. Can be made when green tomatoes are in season and frozen for use around Thanksgiving and Christmas! Tastes like mincemeat.
