HOT FRUIT COMPOTE 
2 (16 oz.) can sliced peaches, drained
1 (16 oz.) can sliced pears, drained and sliced
1 (20 oz.) can pineapple chunks, drained
1 (6 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, drained
2 to 3 bananas, sliced
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. butter
1 (16 oz.) jar applesauce

TOPPING:

3 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Combine first 5 ingredients in a 13 x 9 baking dish. Set aside. Combine 3/4 cup brown sugar, butter and applesauce, heat thoroughly stirring occasionally. Spoon applesauce mixture over fruit, sprinkle brown sugar and pecans over fruit. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour. Serve hot.
