FRESH FRUIT COMPOTE 
1 (15 1/4 oz.) can pineapple tidbits in own juice
3 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 c. water
3 tbsp. lemon juice
2 med. oranges, peeled, seeded and sectioned
2 med. apples, unpeeled and chopped (red)
1 med. yellow apples, chopped, unpeeled
1 med. pear, unpeeled and chopped
1 c. green grapes, halved, seedless
1 c. red grapes, halved, seedless

Drain pineapple, reserving juice; set aside. Combine cornstarch, sugar, and nutmeg in a medium saucepan; gradually add water, stirring until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until comes to boil; boil 1 minute. Remove from heat, and stir in reserved pineapple juice and lemon juice; cool.

Combine reserved pineapple and remaining ingredients in a large bowl; pour dressing over top, toss gently to coat. Cover and chill. Yield: 8 servings, 1 1/2 cups, 157 calories or 12 servings. 1 cup, 105 calories, per serving.
