RIPE TOMATO RELISH 
1 gal. ripe tomatoes, cubed
2/3 c. salt
6 green peppers, chopped
1 qt. chopped onions
1 qt. chopped cabbage

Mix well, then put in colander and let drip until morning.

SYRUP:

1 qt. vinegar
4 c. sugar
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. turmeric

Bring syrup to boil, then add vegetable mix and cook 20 minutes. Jar and seal.
