MONKEY BREAD 
4 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. milk
3/4 c. butter
1 egg

Measure flour in bowl. Combine all ingredients and let rest for 10 minutes. Divide dough in half. Roll dough into 9 x 12 inch rectangle. Take sharp knife or pastry wheel and cut in diagonals 3 x 1 1/2 inch. Dip each piece in melted butter on each side. Arrange in over-lapping layers in 10 inch tube pan. Cover lightly and let rise 1 hour or until double. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until well brown.
