GINGER COOKIES 
1 c. sugar (white or brown if both 1/2 of each)
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. molasses (orange label)
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves

Simply mix together in order given. Roll into balls. Place on greased cookie sheet. Press with a bottom of a smooth tumbler, dipped in sugar.
