BARBECUED WIENERS 
1 lb. hot dog
1 Bermuda onion, sliced
1 can (28 oz.) tomatoes with juice
3/4 c. brown sugar, not packed
1 1/4 c. water
Hot dog buns
Sour cream, optional

Pierce hot dogs with fork and put into pot; cover with sugar, sliced onions and tomatoes with their juice. Bake uncovered at 400 degrees for 3-4 hours. Check occasionally and spoon juices over the top. Then stir gently and add water; cover continue cooking 1 1/2 hours.

After 5-6 hours total cooking time the hot dogs will be a rich dark color and the sauce tangy sweet. Serve on toasted buns topped with sour cream.
