LAYERED SUPPER 
1 lb. ground beef
2 med. potatoes, thinly sliced
2 med. carrots, thinly sliced
1/3 c. long grain rice, uncooked
2 sm. onions, sliced
1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
2 tbsp. brown sugar

In a 2 quart casserole, place beef; cover. Microwave at High (10) 5 to 7 minutes until browned; stir after 3 minutes. Remove from casserole and drain well. In same casserole, layer potatoes, carrots, rice, onions, ground beef and tomatoes. Sprinkle brown sugar on top. Microwave at High 19 to 23 minutes until vegetables are tender. Total microwave cooking time 24 to 30 minutes. Makes 4 servings.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
