CORN BREAD 
1 1/2 c. corn meal
1/2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. melted fat or oil

Mix corn meal, flour, baking powder and salt. Mix together milk and egg add fat. Add milk mixture to corn meal mixture. Stir only enough to mix. Fill greased baking pan half full. Bake at 425 degrees (preheat oven) about 25 minutes or lightly browned.

Makes 6 servings. NOTE: If desired add 1/4 cup of sugar.

CORNMEAL MUFFINS:

Use recipe for corn bread. Fill grease muffin pans half full of cornmeal mixture. Baking time will be 15 to 20 minutes. Makes 12 muffins.
