1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
3 eggs
3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking soda in a little hot water (about 4 tbsp.)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 pkg. dates
1 lb. raisins
1 c. nuts (pecans)

Cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs. Add soda in water. Add flour (saving 1/4 cup to sift over fruit and nuts.) Will be very thick batter. Drop by spoon on very lightly greased cookie sheet. Cook at 325 degrees until very light brown. They burn easily because of brown sugar. Makes several dozen. Very Good For Christmas!
