TOM THUMB MUFFINS 
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. milk

Beat together shortening, sugar and egg. Mix rest of the ingredients along with the shortening, sugar and egg mixture alternately with the 1/2 cup of milk.

Bake in well greased muffin tins 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees. Do not put batter in cupcake liners. While warm, roll muffins in 1/2 cup melted butter. Then dip in a mixture of 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/4 cup sugar. Serve warm!
