WHITE FRUIT CAKE | |
2 c. flour 5 egg whites, beaten stiff 1 c. sugar 1 c. chopped almonds 1 c. raisins 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. sour cream 1/4 lb. citron (cut in sm. pieces) 1 slice candied pineapple (cut in sm. pieces) 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda Cream butter and sugar together, add sour cream. Next mix one cup flour with the nuts and fruit and sift the other cup with the salt, soda and baking powder. Then combine these ingredients and mix well. Fold in the beaten egg whites and add vanilla. Pour batter into well greased pan lined with wax paper and bake 350 degrees 1 hour. When baked, remove from pan, let cool before storing. |
