1 c. water
Measure 1 cup of water and pour into pan. Put pan on burner of stove and turn to high setting. To boil means to cook at boiling temperature which is 212 degrees at sea level. You will know what boiling is when bubbles appear at the bottom, rise to the top, and break.
When a vapor appears and all liquid is in motion, it has come to a BOIL. As the liquid goes into rapid motion and face breaks into small bumpy waves, rapid boiling has been achieved. Further heating will only result in evaporation and (heaven forbid) BURNING WATER.
