CUSTARD BREAD PUDDING | |
2 eggs 1/2 c. sugar 1/8 tsp. salt 2 c. scalded milk Cinnamon 3 slices day old bread (crusts removed), cubed 3/4 tsp. vanilla 1/4 - 1/2 c. raisins (optional) Oven 400 degrees. 1. Beat eggs well. 2. Add sugar, beat thoroughly. 3. Add bread cubes, salt and vanilla. 4. Add milk gradually. Stir in raisins. 5. Grease 9 inch Pyrex dish. Pour mixture and sprinkle top with cinnamon. 6. Place dish in roasting pan filled with water and bake in oven for 30-35 minutes. Cool, then refrigerate. If desired, serve cold with sliced strawberries on top. Best made day before serving. |
