SPICED PICKLED BEETS 
2 c. cider vinegar
4 c. water
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. whole cloves
1 tbsp. whole allspice

Mix all together and heat real well. Place beets in vinegar mixture. Cook until heated real well. Place in jars and seal with lids. Makes enough liquid for about 7 or 8 pints.

Use as many beets as you want, small or medium size. Cook beets, then place them under cold water to peel.
