MEATLOAF 
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/4 green pepper, diced
1 to 1 1/2 bunches green onions, diced
1/4 tsp. basil
1 egg
1/2 c. water
1 c. bread crumbs
1/2 tsp. chili powder (optional)
1 tbsp. butter

Water can be replaced by 1/4 cup barbecue sauce and 1/4 cup water. Bread crumbs can be replaced by 2 large squares of shredded wheat cereal, well crumbled.

Spray the cake pan lightly with Pam. Melt the butter in the sprayed cake pan. (This will help in removing the cooked meat from the pan.) Set aside.

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients well. Shape into 1 large loaf or 2 small loaves. Place in the prepared cake pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. Pour any grease from the pan (or remove with paper towels) before lifting the meatloaf from the pan for cutting and serving.
