GRANDMA SCHRECK'S FROSTING | |
1 c. cream (I use whipping cream) 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Bring to boil cream and sugar to soft ball stage (248°F). Remove from heat and add vanilla. Beat until spreading consistency (I use electric mixer, but she used a wooden spoon). Spread on chocolate cake. Work fast, because it sets up very quickly. I double this recipe for a 9 x 13 cake because my family loves it. I think I am the only one that has luck making it, and my grandchildren always request this cake. |
