1 med. onion 1 lb. ground beef 1 1/2-3 1/2 tbsp. chili powder (depending on how hot you like it!) 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ground cumin 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/2 c. water 1 (16 oz.) can refried beans 3 (7 1/2 oz.) jars taco sauce 6 corn tortillas 1 c. sour cream 1 c. (4 oz.) grated cheddar cheese Chop onion. Cook ground beef; drain grease. Add onion, chili, salt, cumin, pepper and water to ground beef. Cook 5-10 minutes. Stir in refried beans. Remove from heat. Spread 1/2 jar taco sauce in 10x8 inch baking dish. Place 2 tortillas side by side in baking dish on sauce. Spread 1/2 of meat on top of tortillas; spread evenly. Spread sour cream on top. Pour on other 1/2 taco sauce. Place 2 more tortillas on top. Spoon another 1/2 jar taco sauce. Spread on remaining meat, sprinkle 1/2 grated cheese. Place last 2 tortillas on top. Pour on rest of taco sauce and cheese. Bake covered 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. |
