WHITNEY'S GREAT GREAT
GRANDMOTHER'S ORANGE BREAD
 
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. milk
3 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. candied orange peel
1 c. chopped pecans

Mix butter, sugar and eggs in large bowl. In separate bowl mix flour, baking powder and salt. Slowly add the milk and flour mixture to butter mixture. Mix well. Stir in orange peel and nuts. Grease and flour 2 to 3 (1 lb.) coffee cans and fill half full of batter. (Can use bundt pan.) Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Cool about 10 minutes and remove bread from cans.
