FRENCH FRIED ONION RINGS 
2 mild onions
2 c. flour
2 eggs
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. cooking oil
1/2 tsp. salt

Slice onions 1/4 inch wide, separate rings, soak in cold water about 1/2 hour, while mixing batter. Dry slightly on towel, dip in batter, drop in hot oil (375 degrees); turning once, until light brown. Drain on paper towels, salt to taste.
