OATMEAL RAISIN COOKIES 
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. raisins
2 c. rolled oats

Cream together shortening and sugars. Beat egg; add to sugar mixture and mix well. Add vanilla and raisins. Stir. Add rolled oats. Add rest of dry ingredients. Stir to moisten. If needed, sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon cold water over batter and stir to moisten. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
