AMERICAN CHOP SUEY 
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. elbow macaroni
1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 ribs celery, chopped
4 mushrooms, sliced
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. pepper

Cook ground beef in skillet until brown. Add onion, green pepper, mushrooms and celery; saute 3 minutes. Add remaining ingredients except macaroni. Cook macaroni according to directions on box. Add cooked macaroni to other ingredients.

HINTS: Instead of stewed tomatoes, try one of these for a change: 1 can tomato soup and 1 can tomato sauce, 1 can whole tomatoes and 1 can tomato sauce, 1 can whole tomatoes and 1/2 jar prepared spaghetti sauce.

Some folks like more seasoning in theirs. Try a sprinkle of basil or oregano. Green onions are always a nice addition. Serve with grated cheese.
