WHOOPIE PIES 
CAKE:

Cream:

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar

Add:

1 egg

Sift:

2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. cocoa
Pinch of salt

Alternate sifted ingredients and 1 cup milk and mix thoroughly with creamed ingredients. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 7 minutes at 425 degrees. Cool on wire racks.

FILLING:

3/4 c. white shortening
1 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1 1/2 c. marshmallow fluff

Beat until well blended. Spread a generous amount of filling between cake halves when cake is completely cooled. Makes about 20 medium sized whoopie pies.
