MARLBORO TART PIE 
2 1/2 c. peeled, grated tart apples (Granny Smith)
2 1/2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/4 c. evaporated milk
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. melted butter
Grated rind and juice of one lemon
1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell

Heat oven to 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Lower to 375 degrees until pie sets. Peel and grate apples; pack into measuring cup.

Combine all ingredients in bowl. Pour into pie shell. Bake until set. Top will be slightly brown and the pie tends to leak when almost done. Cooking time is probably almost an hour.
