PECAN PIE BARS 
1 c. shortening (1/2 Crisco, 1/2 butter)
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. flour
5 eggs
1 c. white sugar
1 c. white corn syrup
1 1/2 c. whole pecans
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cut flour and brown sugar in shortening. Pat in a "heavy" 9"x13" ungreased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Beat 5 eggs, white sugar, corn syrup and add pecans and vanilla. Pour over baked crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Then turn down to 250 degrees. Bake 20 minutes longer or until set.
