RANGER COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. oatmeal
Chocolate chips, chopped nuts, coconut, or raisins; optional

Cream shortenings and sugars together. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix these ingredients together thoroughly. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; mix. Stir in oatmeal and optional ingredients.

Shape the dough into small balls and dip into sugar. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees.
