ROAST GRAVY | |
2 to 3 tbsp. flour 1/2 c. water 1/4 tsp. chili powder Salt and pepper to taste Use any liquid from your cooked roast up to 1 cup. Drain off excess fat. Put liquid in skillet and heat. Sift in flour, stirring constantly so it won't get lumpy. As it thickens, add water slowly. Remove from heat. Add the chili powder and salt and pepper to taste. (If it does get lumpy, don't throw it out - beat with an electric mixer until smooth.) To make gravy richer, add milk instead of water. |
