OATCAKES 
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. rolled oats
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Boiling water
2 tbsp. shortening

Mix dry ingredients; rub in shortening. Pour on enough boiling water to make stiff dough. Roll out; cut into rounds. Bake at 300 degrees on greased sheet for about 20 minutes.
