REAL BUTTER COOKIES
1/2 lb. real butter, softened
1 c. confectioners' sugar
2 c. plain flour

In a large mixer bowl, combine butter, sugar, and flour. Beat well. Make 1 large or 2 small rolls; wrap in wax paper and refrigerate until cold enough to slice, about 1/4 inch thick. If dough gets too cold to slice well, let stand at room temperature about 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place sliced cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for about 10 minutes. Watch carefully, because butter burns easily.
