JOE NAVARRO'S ITALIAN CHICKEN 
3 to 3 1/2 lb. chicken (skin removed)
6 potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
2 onions, peeled and sliced
29 oz. can crushed tomatoes
1 tbsp. oregano
1 tsp. anise seed
1/2 c. salad oil
Garlic powder
Salt and pepper
Crushed red pepper
3 oz. Romano cheese, grated

In medium roasting pan, place a layer of chicken, then a layer of sliced potatoes and onions. Sprinkle with some of the cheese, garlic powder, anise seed, salt, pepper and red pepper. Repeat process.

Pour salad oil over ingredients in pan, pour on crushed tomatoes, sprinkle with remaining ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until potatoes are tender.
