AMBER'S ITALIAN ICE 
1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
4 cups fresh (or frozen) berries
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

In a medium saucepan combine water and sugar, bring to boiling, stirring frequently. Boil gently, uncovered for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and cool slightly.

In a blender combine berries, syrup mixture, and lemon juice. Blend until almost smooth.

Transfer into 13x9-inch baking pan (or any container that will hold). Place in the freezer for 1 1/2 hours or until almost solid.

Remove ice from freezer. Using a fork, break the ice up into some what smooth mixture. Break up the ice with a fork and serve in cups.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.
