FRUIT FILLED CAKE WITH EASY WHIPPED CREAM FROSTING | |
1 box cake mix (your choice: white, yellow or French vanilla do best) CAKE: Prepare and bake cake according to package directions (make sure to generously grease the pan). After done let it cool until it's almost all the way cooled and remove it from the pan (you want it barely warm for easy removal). Cut the cake through the middle so you have a top and bottom layer. I found it's easy to remove the top with one of the thin flimsy plastic cutting boards (and it might be easier to have someone help). FROSTING: 1 (3 oz.) pkg. vanilla or French vanilla pudding (you can choose another but these come out with an off white color) 1 (12 oz.) tub Cool Whip Mix the pudding according to package directions but cut the settling time short just a little. Once it's done add it.. and the whole tub of Cool Whip to a large bowl. Mix very well! If it's too thin or soft place in refrigerator to set for a little. And that's it unless you want to add food coloring to make it your own color. Note: The frosting works better with you if it's cold!! Oh and if you'd like two colors. Like pink cake and red flowers then set a side a little of the frosting for the end to make the other color. PUTTING IT TOGETHER: your choice of fruit (strawberry, banana, or peach work well - canned or fresh... fresh works best) With the bottom half of the cake put a small layer of the frosting and then place the fruit on top of the frosting. Then carefully put the top half of the cake on top. Then all you have to do is frost the cake and decorate. Once done keep frosted cake in refrigerator until ready. Enjoy! Submitted by: Tawnya |
