MACARONI SALAD 
1 lb. ring or other macaroni
1/4 c. diced sweet red pepper
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/4 c. diced green onion
1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
Mayonnaise or salad dressing

Cook macaroni according to package directions until al dente. Cool quickly, drain well. When macaroni has drained, add to large mixing bowl. Then add onion, red pepper, cheese, mustard, garlic and onion powders and salt to taste. Gently mix together. Dot top of salad with mayonnaise and mix again. Refrigerate overnight. Yield: 8 servings.

Before adding mayonnaise or salad dressing, thin with a little milk or half and half; add salt and sugar to taste. Macaroni soaks up the dressing, so you may want to add a little more immediately before serving.
