APPLESAUCE OATMEAL BAR | |
2 c. flour 2 c. oatmeal 1 c. brown sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. butter and 4 tbsp. 4 c. applesauce Mix dry ingredients, cut in one cup of butter. Spread 1/2 of mixture in a 9 x 11 pan. Spread with 4 cups applesauce. Dot with 4 tablespoon butter. Top with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees, 45 minutes or until golden brown. Variation: you may use 5 cups of sliced apples and 1 cup of sugar instead of the applesauce. DIETITIAN'S NOTE: Try whole wheat flour for even more fiber! The salt can be left behind and the brown sugar reduced to 3/4 cup since this recipe will shine from the applesauce flavor alone. |
