DANNY'S "TEX MEX" CHILI 
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef (or 1 1/2 lbs. stew beef, cut in sm. cubes)
2 cans red kidney beans
1 can chick peas
2 lg. onions, chopped - lg.
1 lg. green pepper, chopped - lg.
3 or 4 jalapeno peppers, sliced thin
5-6 tbsp. chili powder
3 cloves garlic, chopped fine
1 lg. jar taco sauce - hot
Salt and pepper

Brown beef in large pot. Drain well. While meat is draining saute onions, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, garlic and salt and pepper to taste in a skillet. Place meat back in large pot. Add 1/4 cup of water and chili powder to hamburger. Simmer 2 minutes. Add sauteed vegetables to hamburger/chili mixture. Add taco sauce. Simmer 3-4 minutes. Add beans - simmer 30 minutes.

Serve with saltine crackers, corn chips or extra jalapeno pepper on the side.

Optional: Dry beans may be used: i.e. 8 ounce small red kidney beans and 5 ounce chick peas. Soak together overnight and cook around 20 minutes prior to adding to recipe.
