EASTER BREAD | |
2 cakes yeast 2 tbsp. sugar 12 c. flour 3/4 c. sugar 1/2 c. lukewarm water 1 qt. milk, scalded & cooled 3/4 c. butter 1 tbsp. salt Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water with sugar. Add lukewarm milk and 6 cups flour. Place in greased bowl and let rise for 10 minutes. Add egg, butter, sugar, salt and rest of flour. Knead until smooth. Let rise about 2 hours (double in size). Shape into a round pan. Baste with beaten egg. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. |
