SPINACH SALAD | |
1 c. vegetable oil 1/2 c. vinegar 3/4 c. sugar 1/3 c. catsup 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 med. onion, grated SALAD: 1 head leaf or Romaine lettuce 1 bunch fresh spinach 5 strips bacon 1 can bean sprouts or 1 c. fresh sprouts 3 hard-boiled eggs 2 cans water chestnuts 3 cans mandarin oranges For the Dressing: Combine ingredients and mix well. Let stand in refrigerator overnight. For the Salad: Wash spinach and lettuce and break into bite-sized pieces. Fry bacon and break into bits. Drain sprouts. Chop the hard-boiled eggs. Drain the water chestnuts and mandarin oranges. Combine salad ingredients and toss lightly. Just before serving, pour dressing over salad. |
