ONE HOUR BAKING POWDER AND YEAST

2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. or less salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda

Sift above ingredients into bowl. Cut 1/4 cup solid shortening into dry mixture. Add 1 package dry yeast, softened in 1/4 cup warm milk. Add 3/4 cup buttermilk. Mix and knead lightly, pat out or roll and cut like regular biscuits. Put on lightly greased baking pan. Let rise 1 hour or until light. Bake 12-15 minutes at 425 degrees.
