1 lb. lean ground beef
1/4 c. diced onion
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 can water
Salt & pepper
1 (32 oz.) pkg. tater tots
A little diced green pepper if desired

Brown ground beef. Add salt, pepper, mushroom soup and water.

Spread 1/2 the tater tots in the bottom of a 9 x 13 casserole, pour mix over the tater tots, put the rest of the tater tots on top. Bake at 350 degrees - 30 minutes.

Spread grated cheese over the top and return to oven until melted.
