PEAR BREAD 
1/2 c. butter
1 scant c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. yogurt, sour milk or cream or buttermilk
1 c. chopped pears
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar well; add eggs. Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with yogurt. Stir in pears and vanilla. Pour into greased 9 x 5 loaf pan.

Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
