BAD NEWS BROWNIES | |
1 1/2 sticks melted butter 1 c. chopped nuts (optional) 1 c. chocolate chips 50 light caramels (1 bag) 2/3 c. evaporated milk 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine caramels, 1/3 cup evaporated milk; heat slowly (double boiler), stirring occasionally until melted. Set aside. Combine cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and nuts. Stir until holds together. Press 1/2 dough into greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes. Sprinkle with chocolate chips, spread caramel mixture evenly on top. Spread remaining dough on top as evenly as possible. Return to oven. Bake 15-18 minutes. Cool slightly. Chill for 30 minutes. Cut into bars. |
