DATE LOAF CANDY 
2 c. sugar
1 c. sweet milk
1 stick plus 2 tbsp. butter
1 box dates
1 1/2 c. pecans

Cook sugar, milk and butter. Cook together until it forms a soft ball in cold water. Then add one small box of dates, finely cut; cook until hard until cold water. Add pecans. Beat until it begins to harden. Pour on a damp cloth and roll. Slice when cool.
