DATE LOAF CANDY 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 tbsp. butter
1 c. dates, chopped
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

Boil sugar, milk, and butter in saucepan to 230 degrees. Add dates and cook 5 minutes longer. Cool a bit and add vanilla and nuts. Beat until it thickens. Roll into small loaf. Cool and slice.
