GOOD OLE ROLLS 
4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. plus 1 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. shortening
1 pkg. yeast
1 egg
1 1/2 c. lukewarm water

Dissolve yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in 1/2 cup water. Add 1 egg after yeast dissolves. Mix with a fork.

In a large mixing bowl sift flour, sugar and salt. Add shortening. Add yeast solution and 1 cup water.

Knead with hands. Let dough set and rise in a large bowl for 3 hours. Make rolls. Place on a greased cookie sheet. Let rise for 1 hour. Bake at 450 degrees until golden.
